Hi,

I'm using Mac OS X 10.6.4 with globalSAN 4.0.0 b204, to make persistent connection to my iSCSI target, which is a QNAP TS-259 with latest firmware 3.3.0_b0629. There is only one iSCSI target created on the NAS, and authentication is disable.

So far, globalSAN worked fine, except for two issues:

1. When I try to unarchive large ZIP files on the iSCSI volume, 7 times out of 10 the Finder (and other applications working with files) will turn into "Spinning Beach Ball of Death", and the state indicator of globalSAN pref panel will change from green to orange. There is no way to recover from this fault but force reboot both the Mac and the NAS.

2. Waking up from sleep will cause extremely long delay every time. It'll take up to 5 minutes before the Finder can get back to work.

Anyway to solve these two issues ? Or should I change to Xtend ?

Thanks.

I think other users may have discovered a solution to this problem. That post and some of the remainder of the thread may be helpful to you.

Well, in that thread someone solved the problem by disabling CHAP authentication. However, as I've said, I've ALREADY disabled the CHAP authentication in the beginning. So that thread can't help in my case. Anyway, thanks for the reply.
